Use this form to upload an audio file to a single MiVoice Business node. You can upload an audio file and use it as a Music on Hold source, an Auto Attendant system greeting, an Auto Attendant Park and Page greeting, a mailbox greeting, a RAD greeting or an ACD embedded music source.
NOTE: You can use MiVoice Enterprise Manager to upload an audio file to multiple nodes at once.
Use this form when performing the following tasks:
The audio file must be in the following format:
WAV, A-law or m-law (G.711), 8 kHz, 8-bit, mono.
TIP: When extracting a file from a CD (for a example, from your corporate Music on Hold CD) using a "CD ripper" application, choose a sampling rate as close as possible to 8 kHz. This should help prevent audio distortion introduced when converting a WAV file from a high sampling rate to a low sampling rate.
When an audio file is uploaded, its audio amplitude is normalized by the controller to ensure uniform sound level and compliance with telecommunications regulations.
MiVoice Business supports the following embedded Music On Hold capabilities:

You cannot upload a file during a system backup, restore, or upgrade.
The uploaded audio files are preserved during a system backup or upgrade.
When the Voice Mail Hospitality/PMS option is enabled in the License and Option Selection form, you can upload the Guest Login greeting, but not Alternate Greeting set 9.
When you replace an existing music file or change the music source from external to embedded, callers already connected to the music source hear silence after the new file is uploaded. After the programming is complete, new callers hear the new music source.
When you replace a system or RAD greeting, the new greeting is not enabled until all voice mail ports are idle.
Mailboxes configured to play a standard greeting still offer the user the option to record their own personal greeting via the User Options menu. The personal greeting, if recorded, will be ignored.
When an administrator accesses the System Audio Source Update form, the system interrupts the Music on Hold audio (.wav) file for approximately 1 second. Callers who are listening to Music on Hold will hear a 1 second break in the audio playback.
NOTES
If you upload a system or RAD greeting while somebody is recording the same greeting from a phone, the recorded greeting is replaced by the uploaded greeting when all voice mail ports become idle.
The presence of large audio files, or a large number of audio files, may increase the time required for database backups/restores and software upgrades.
Verify that the file is in the proper format (see Audio File Format above).
Check the audio quality of the file.
IMPORTANT: Verify that the MiVoice Business system is a trusted site in Internet Explorer; otherwise, you may receive an error, "Access problem. Verify that the local path is valid (C:Xakepath)" when attempting to upload the audio file.
NOTES
You can only upload one audio file at a time. You must have voice mail licenses to be able to upload audio files for system greetings.
